New Baby Brother

I designed this layout for a friend that had her first baby boy: she already has four girls!  I had fun making the little ducks and ran them through my cuttlebug for a bit more definition.

Stamp and Scrapbooking Expo

Today was my first time to an Expo, and let me tell you it was awesome! I really enjoyed seeing all the projects and new twists to paper crafting. My niece and I did lots of make and take projects and I blew my budget...No surprises there! Thanks to my husband for watching the kids all day so I could play! I am the luckiest lady.

Back To School!

My kids started at their new school last week. They were given these bags to use like all the other kids. Well, we couldn't leave them as is- how would we know which one was ours? So I took out my Cricut and attempted to cut fabric for the first time. Sadly, it didn't work. Later I would find out that I did several things wrong (I didn't know that I needed to starch the fabric!) My husband came to rescue when he suggested that I use my Cricut markers to spell the words and then we would cut them the old fashioned way (Gasp!) by hand. Since school was the very next day that is what we did. I think they turned out great! Suzi of course was dismayed that there was no glitter...So I guess the project may not be fully complete yet! Ha!

Gypsy Challenge

This weekend I entered the Cricut 24 hour gypsy challenge.  After a mistake in the dates I discovered at 7 p.m. that the contest was ending at Midnight on Sunday!  I had somehow got it in my head that the contest started on Monday.  I am glad that I checked.  It put me in a mad frenzy as I didn't even have an idea yet!  Paper was flying. Kevin had to put Suzi to bed (Andy was already tuckered out!)  I kept changing my mind and my paper and my cuts and then it was 10 p.m. MST and I thought I had missed the deadline!  Yuck!  I was so close.  I almost started to cry until I read that it was Midnight MST and not EST.  I started  cutting again and was done at 11:30 P.M. I had my husband take the picture of my project while I logged in.  Then I had so much trouble getting my project to post.  It kept deleting all my information.  I finally read about a glitch that if you didn't have the shipping section of the main website filled out it wouldn't let you get past the first page.  I quickly added my address and resubmitted...4 minutes before the deadline!  I didn't have time to put any real thought into my instructions, but I was glad that I got it in.  This was the whole reason I convinced my husband to get me the Gypsy before Christmas and let me use it!  Well all the deals at Michael's also helped. :)  Here is my project.  My sister took this portrait.  You can check out her website at www. photographytlc.com.

Baby announcements

I volunteered to make baby shower announcements for my friend.  I didn't realize that she had 45 friends to invite!  This was a good project for me and I enjoyed doing it.  I learned more about design studio, and now I really want the Cricut's new toy the "Gypsy".  I needed the little dress for the maternity lady but not all the other accessories so I took it into Design studio and deleted all the other accessories.  I repeated this eight times to make eight little dresses in a row.  I then cut them out on my Cricut and moved them down the page and cut again.  This was easier than deleting out all the little accessories on 45 dresses.  You can't copy and paste in Design studio which is a drag.  I wonder if you can do that on the Gypsy? I almost didn't have the blue vellum behind the pregnant lady because I lost it.  A week after I lost it I was near the pizza place I thought I might have left it at, and guess what?! It was still there. I have never been more surprised. Next project will be to make invitations for both of my Children's' birthdays.  They were born almost exactly 3 days apart!

Some of my layouts

I have several projects on the go, but none of them finished.  That is what happens when you can only work on projects for 15 minutes at a time!  Here are some of my past scrapbook pages I would like to share with you.  Some of them are my early pieces and I would do things differently now, but I still love them all!

Acheivement

I went to Micheals today and only spent $23.00!  That is a record for me since I have been known to overspend a tad.  Ok a lot.  But I just started scrap booking ten months ago and I tell my husband that I have a lot of catching up to do!  I finished my baby shower invitations and just need to insert the paper with the pertinent details inside.  I will post pictures soon! I also worked with Stickles for the first time today and really had a good time.  I made some Christmas tags with Winter Woodland.  It was a good day, but I could use more hours in the day for my hobby!
